Derived from the milky sap of the Rubber tree, latex is one of the best materials that is used to make a mattress. Way before I started sleeping on a natural latex mattress, I always thought that it was “over-hyped”. Fast forward to today, I have seen a drastic change in my body and sleep routine; thus always recommending people around me to switch to a natural latex mattress.

Why Only 100% Natural Latex Mattress?

Before we even get started, you might be thinking that why do I keep saying the same term — “100% natural latex mattress”? The reason for so is because only natural latex mattresses are safe to sleep on. You can also easily find blended or synthetic latex mattresses in the market. However, such types of mattresses are not at all safe to sleep on.

These types of mattresses involve the usage of harmful chemical compounds, toxins, and additives to reduce the cost of manufacturing. These elements thus pose huge risks to your body as you sleep. The biggest risk involved in sleeping on such mattresses is that you can easily catch skin or respiratory allergies.

Why did I switch to a Latex Mattress?

Growing up, I had always slept on a rubberized coir mattress and never faced any issue until I started working and got a jam-packed routine. I started getting severe back pain with stiff muscles all over my body every morning. Even after making certain lifestyle changes, taking endless medications, and even exercising consistently, my body pain was persistent.

That is when I got to know that the mattress we sleep on plays a huge role in our spinal health. I soon started to realize that I needed to replace my mattress. After days of thorough researching, I finally got home Morning Owl Premium Quality Latex Mattress and life changed ever since. It took me around a week to adjust to the new mattress but I found it very comfortable from day one.

My back pain persisting for years was completely gone within around three months which felt like a dream. With fresher and pain-free mornings, I started getting back to my old routine. I could handle a lot of work easily without any body aches. Switching to a latex mattress was thus, a completely life-changing experience for me.

Why Should You Sleep on a Natural Latex Mattress?

Even if you don’t have back pain or any other issue but still looking forward to replacing your mattress, here is why you must consider sleeping on a latex mattress:

1. Eco-friendly

With growing pollution every day, it is our responsibility to switch to nature-friendly alternatives and reduce our carbon footprint on the Earth.

2. Hypoallergenic

Natural latex mattresses keep you away from dust molds, mites, allergens, bacteria, fungi, etc., and are completely safe to sleep on.

3. Comfortable

With natural springiness inside, a latex mattress is highly comfortable.

4. Medium Firm

Sleeping on a mattress with the right firmness is very important in improving your spinal health. A latex mattress has a medium firmness that keeps you relaxed and pain-free while you sleep.

5. Breathable

One of the biggest reasons I support sleeping on a latex mattress is because it is highly breathable. Its excellent air circulation ensures that you sleep cool and sweat-free all night long. Moreover, it improves the blood circulation inside the body which helps in relieving stiff muscles and reducing body aches, if any.

6. Aligns the Spinal Column Properly

Sleeping on a latex mattress aligns your spinal column correctly by distributing your body weight into various zones. This reduces sore pressure points, relaxes your muscles, and also helps in improving postural deformities.

7. Highly Supportive

As soon as you lie down on a latex mattress, the mattress will instantly adjust to your curves rather than sinking under your weight. It pushes your body back using a buoyant force and conforms to it to provide you the right back support.

8. No Disturbance

Another thing I loved about sleeping on a latex mattress is that it isolates motion transfer and does not make any noise even if the partner tosses and turns throughout the night.

The Bottom Line

Sleeping on a latex mattress is sure to help you in many different ways. These are just the major benefits of sleeping on it but I am sure you will notice even more benefits. Please note that these benefits have been listed upon my personal experience, in compliance with scientific evidence. While I do not force you to buy a latex mattress, please make an informed decision if you consider buying it.
